Drew Johansen: Drew
is entering his first year as the Head Diving Coach for Duke University.
Drew coached in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Durham. He was the Head
Coach and founder of the US Elite Diving Academy (6th place JO team 2001, 2nd place JO team 2002, 2003, and the
#1
JO Team 2004). US Elite won the Combined Senior Team Championship
in 2006.
Luther Beau (Beau): Beau was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He began diving when he was 8 at Brentwood swim club In 1992 Beau joined the diving team as a freshman at Millbrook High School in Raleigh where he dove and lettered 3 years, placing as high as 5th in the state during his senior year. After high school Beau went on to dive at UNCW under Marc Ellington. As a walk on freshman he was CAA rookie of the year and finished 2nd on both boards at conference. As a sophomore Beau was named CAA diver of the year and placed 2nd on 1 meter and 1st on 3 meter. As a junior Beau went undefeated in conference, again taking CAA diver of the year honors, winning both 1 and 3 meter boards. As a senior Beau placed 2nd on both 1 and 3 meter at CAA championships and was named to the all ECAC team. In addition, Beau was named outstanding male diver at UNCW four consecutive years. Beau graduated from UNCW in 1999 with a degree in Physical Education. Over the past 10 years Beau has coach many summer league age group teams in Raleigh including Wood Valley and Northbrook. He was head diving coach for 4 Wake County Schools in 2007, coaching over 30 high school divers. Beau is married (wife of 10 years, April) and has 2 boys (Jason, 5 and Nathan, 4) and 2 dogs (Dudley and Bailey) Contact Beau at: ASDiving@nc.rr.com
Mamie Goodson: Mamie dove for Indiana University from 1999-2002. She was a Big Ten Championship finalist on the 10-meter platform and an NCAA qualifier for the Hoosiers, as well as a member of Indiana Diving’s U.S. Senior National Championship teams. In addition, she won the Jack D. Tichenor Memorial Award, annually awarded to one Indiana University athlete with the highest degree of academic excellence. Mamie coached with Indiana Diving, as well as high school teams in Roma, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico, before moving to Durham.
